why patriots?

The Patriots Party is founded in our lifetime with a deeper understanding of the current challenges and solutions.

We believe in Simplifying politics: Fundamental changes and service delivery at the core. What did you promise? Did you achieve it?

When all South Africans became eligible to vote, the majority voted for people who had no experience in running government. Our party is made up of experienced public servants, civil society leaders, and senior private sector leaders who love South Africa. We deserve a chance as we have better exposure to proper governance, ethical practices, and accountability than our predecessors.

OUR POLICY POSITION

We have consulted just over two hundred people in order to produce these forward-thinking ideas. We want over five thousand brave and capable South Africans to contribute to this great South African story.

Have your say to the next South African government

These are at the core of every democratic establishment and need to be kept alive. Media that promotes a one-sided narrative is dangerous to a democratic state and its people. Media must produce balanced narratives which are informative to the people and allow the people to draw their own conclusions. Media cannot produce one-sided production or those that support specific individuals or groups. The state must establish an independent media monitoring agency that will have the power to take action against non-compliance. Submit your policy suggestions by email: policy@patriots.org.za

Health is a fundamental right enshrined in the constitution. Access to health should not be exclusive to only those who have money but the entire citizens of South Africa. Emergency life preserving interventions may not be denied to any person requiring it. The National Health Insurance (NHI) is an excellent plan to level the fields between the poor and rich people. Medical aids will no longer exist or will only be allowed to fund all that is outside the scope of the NHI. Administration of the NHI will not be outsourced and will be done by a state agency.
Non-SA citizen must buy insurance cover before entry, that will extend for the rest of their stay in
South Africa. All hospitals in South Africa will be licensed to serve NHI Clients. All hospitals must meet the core standards to be licenced.
Funding for health promotion and prevention must be budgeted for in the NHI.
Training of citizens in Basic life Support shall be rolled out, starting with the most peripheral areas. Submit your policy suggestions by email: policy@patriots.org.za

All resources that are underneath the soil belong to the State. The state can expropriate land with compensation as determined by the state within its limited resources. This compensation will not be subject to any court for determination. The land compensation appeals tribunal will be established to attend to appeals and their decision is final.
All land that has been handed over to the rightful owners cannot be sold off to any other party except the state. The state shall determine the appropriate price which shall not be subject to any court.

Expropriation of land cannot be at the expense of food security and production. Land that is
productive must not be disturbed. Land expropriation must be explained to the citizens of South Africa as well as international stakeholders. It must be done in an orderly manner that is under the control of the state. Land grabs will not be tolerated. Land reforms must take cognisance of the bigger picture which is to protect the economy and stability of the country. Submit your policy suggestions by email: policy@patriots.org.za

State assets must be preserved and used to serve the state objectives towards an inclusive equal society. Any effort to sell state assets to private capitalist hands is a serious offence against the state. Airspace, seas, and air cannot be sold to any other state or person or entity. All borders, points of entry to South Africa cannot be owned or controlled by any entity except the state. Submit your policy suggestions by email: policy@patriots.org.za

The state must be lean and agile to respond to its citizenry needs. The state must be self-sufficient. The state must own and protect its intellectual property. The state cannot cede any of its rights to any other party. Outsourcing of state works shall be abolished eventually as the state builds its capacity to perform its duties. From the start, the state shall buy directly from the producers and no middleman. The state must use its buying power and bulk buying advantage to secure favourable prices. The national ministries will be reduced to less than twenty to achieve efficiency.
The state administration will be depoliticised and restrictions on the powers of ministers in decisions of their operations will be limited. Politicisation of the state organs has crippling effect on then functioning of the public servants. South Africa needs a professional public service which can deploy
all its might in discharging their duties without fear or favour. The police, intelligence, army, prosecutors and the judiciary are the priority departments in this regard. Submit your policy suggestions by email: policy@patriots.org.za

It is the duty of the state to create enabling environment for ethical and patriotic businesses to thrive. It is the duty of the business sector to create meaningful employment and let the citizens contribute to the growth of the economy of South Africa. The state-owned companies must create an enabling environment for business and assist the economy to be competitive at a global stage. State owned companies must train and deploy the
skills to the economy. State owned businesses must look at ways to produce products that can compete in global markets. Submit your policy suggestions by email: policy@patriots.org.za

A military service will be introduced for young people who are 18 years and over, that are not
attending school nor working. The defence force will be used to train young people in military skills, discipline, and vocational skills. Those who are not part of the permanent force, will be enlisted for reserve force duties. This youth will be ready and free to join the police reservist, and private security.
Sports remains on the natural talents that once harnessed properly can be a source of livelihood for the youth. Sport development from the grassroots will be developed by the state. National associations need to contribute to this project to yield desired results to national teams. Youth that are found to be exceptional at a young age in any sport will be channelled into sporting focused schools which will nurture and develop their sporting talent while ensuring academic progress continues. The state will engage countries that have successful sporting development programs to assist South Africa to achieve the same.
The unskilled and less educated youth will be offered skills in indigenous craftsmanship and arts.
These will be utilised in the tourism ventures that the state will be implementing. Youth will be engaged and encouraged to be entrepreneurs that will be globally competitive. It is also the responsibility of the youth to bring viable, innovative ideas that can be funded to increase
employment. Submit your policy suggestions by email: policy@patriots.org.za

This group of people are essential for achieving state objectives. The product that the party wants to create is equally dependant on their input, buy in and innovation. They will be engaged on ways that are efficient to produce a highly professional, effective, efficient and competitive workforce.
The public servants must come up with ways to motivate themselves to achieve the state objectives. They are a capable workforce that has been crippled by the current atmosphere in the state. The output of each public servant must be measurable in terms of quantity and quality. Clients to the public service must be able to score the service interaction that they received from each public servant. Submit your policy suggestions by email: policy@patriots.org.za

Through better understand of the apartheid pillars, we have come up with a strategy to defeat them. The coexistence of apartheid in a democratic South Africa shows a lack of understanding of what apartheid is. Declaring victory on a system that was meticulously designed with the inputs of evil minds which included psychologists can not be undone by just a ballot paper and pretence that all will magically transform into a healthy society.
Racial supremacy has been sustained through the structure of the economy that has not
transformed. While the apartheid state empowered its minority race beneficiaries, but the democratic state hoped for automatic correction. As an example: how many people got Covid
vaccine by being forced by the employer or institution? You got the injection because you are poor and dependant on that institution for your livelihood and future.
Apartheid had a structure that elevated (financially, socially, and mentally) one person of the minority racial group at the expense of the nine other persons of the majority racial groups. It
destroyed the identity and the societal foundation of the majority racial group.
It is our proposition and moral appeal to the South African racial group that are benefiting from the apartheid structure to start a process whereby one person will empower nine south African persons from the most disadvantaged racial groups. This must continue perpetually till and when all the social ills in our country have no racial disproportionate distribution. Submit your policy suggestions by email: policy@patriots.org.za
